WALK HISTORIC NEW RICHMOND SWING BRIDGE

WALK HISTORIC NEW RICHMOND SWING BRIDGE

VISIT THE BOARDWALK IN HISTORIC NEW RICHMOND

Walk the bridge and the boardwalk along the Kalamazoo river. It serves as a great place to view the river or watch for a passing fish. Listen for coyote or see the deer come down for a drink. When you hear that whistle blow watch the train cross the rail bridge harkening back to the roots of Manlius Township.

Travel back in time to when Michigan’s timber industry powered the local economy. Barges of logs navigated from lumber mills upriver in Kalamazoo and Allegan to the train depot in New Richmond and on to build the frontier towns of a sprawling nation.
